The same Germany e-Rechnung (XRechnung / ZUGFeRD) our customers expect, the same minimal-customisation discipline that keeps your team in control of the system after we leave.

Odoo in Germany

What running Odoo here actually involves.

German businesses charge VAT (Umsatzsteuer) at a standard 19%, with a reduced 7% rate for food, books, and, from 1 January 2026, restaurant and catering meals; small businesses below EUR 25,000 in prior-year turnover and EUR 100,000 in the current year can use the Kleinunternehmer exemption. Wage tax (Lohnsteuer) and social contributions are withheld and reported monthly, with tax-class data pulled through the ELStAM system. We configure Odoo to that regime: the local (SKR-based) chart of accounts, 19% and 7% tax codes, DATEV-clean accounting, and Lohnsteuer and social-security handling alongside payroll.

VAT advance returns (Umsatzsteuervoranmeldung) and payroll filings are submitted electronically through Elster, the federal tax administration's portal. Structured e-invoicing (e-Rechnung) runs under the Growth Opportunities Act overseen by the Federal Ministry of Finance: since 1 January 2025 every business must be able to receive EN 16931 e-invoices, issuing them becomes mandatory for companies above EUR 800,000 in turnover from 1 January 2027, and for all domestic B2B transactions from 1 January 2028. We set Odoo up for XRechnung and ZUGFeRD so you are ready ahead of each phase, not scrambling at the deadline.

Most German businesses we move to Odoo are migrating from DATEV-centred setups, SAP Business One, Lexware, Sage, or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central: capable tools that often leave accounting, inventory, manufacturing, and CRM in separate systems held together by interfaces. We configure Odoo to consolidate those functions into one platform while keeping the DATEV-clean export accountants expect, so the books stay familiar as the operations come together.

What currency do you bill in for Germany clients? +

We bill in AUD or USD by default, and can quote in EUR on request. Payment terms and invoicing comply with the regimes that apply in Germany (Germany e-Rechnung (XRechnung / ZUGFeRD), DATEV-clean accounting).

What is your typical turnaround for an Odoo implementation in Germany? +

Four to twelve weeks depending on scope. Standard configuration plus data migration and training fits the lower end; multi-entity, multi-currency or heavy integrations push toward the upper end.

Yes. In Germany the systems we most often migrate from are SAP Business One, DATEV, Microsoft Dynamics 365 BC. Migration includes data extraction, reconciliation, validation in a sandbox, and a zero-downtime cutover.
